BIG NEWS!! I’ve been invited by Tafe NSW to teac

BIG NEWS!! I’ve been invited by Tafe NSW to teach my favourite Photoshop tools and techniques in a fun and informative 9 week evening course. It’ll be Tuesday’s from 6pm to 9pm starting on July 20 with a total course fee of $450, which works out to be $50 per 3 hour class.

There’s no units or assessments, but the bonus of going through Tafe is that we get to use their classroom, campus security, computers and Adobe Photoshop facilities at the Coffs Harbour Education Campus (CHEC)!

I’ve put together a free pdf download that talks through my process of the new Fantasy Island artwork which helps put into context what you'll be learning and the information about the course at the end of the pdf, download link in my bio.

I’ll be covering things like how to create and use Layer Masks, Blending Modes and Gradient Maps, and teaching in a step-by-step follow along style, providing handouts with instructions for you to practice again and again in your own time.

The catch is I need to get 12 people enrolled by the 20th of July for Tafe to be able to run the course. Introducing my latest artwork, Fantasy Island, AND my first free Artist Talk which will also include details of my first Graphic Design Short Course 🙌😲👩‍🎤

It’s been forever and a day since I’ve released a new work purely for the love of it and this beauty focuses on a whole bunch of Coffs-isms! Including Coffs’ own South Solitary Island, a local favourite Blue Groper fish, clouds and trees made up of the Dorrigo Mountains, North Wall beach, and a Coffs Carnival ride!

I am dying to share a project I worked on at the end of last year/start of this year, but we’re waiting for construction on a few things so I’m trying to sit pretty as the release date is pushed.

As today is World Turtle Day and I fell so in love with this little guy while creating that project, I had to share a snippet in celebration of the wonderful creature that is the turtle, and in this case, the Sea Turtle 🥰🐢🪂✨💖

Circa 2011, Jesus that’s 10 years ago! I don’t even know what made me think to add these little bee dudes to my self portrait (I’m actually quite scared of them up close!) but I did and submitted the piece to @semipermanent’s then annual design and illustration book.

It’s the best feeling to be accepted and represented alongside your creative peers, particularly then when I was still finding my creative feet.

I feel like this piece has a lot more significance ten years later, as we realise more and more just how important bees are for the ecosystem...and the survival of the world as we know it... GO BEES 🙌🐝

Local illustrator and designer, @alykatcreative will be sharing her Australian flora and fauna inspired artwork.

Local food artist Byron Goh will be sharing selected canapés using local native produce.

Local bespoke distiller Chris Fraser will be sharing samples of in-house artisan spirits used to create drinks by the talented cocktail maker Kamil Piotrowski
